Job Point Board Appoints Interim President - October 23, 2014

Steve Smith2 (2)Job Point’s Board of Directors has selected an Interim President & Chief Executive Officer, Steven A. Smith, effective October 22, 2014.  Smith brings to Job Point 30 plus years of experience and leadership in the finance industry.  In addition to his work in the private sector, Smith has served numerous organizations, including the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Public Schools and Heart of Missouri United Way.  Smith replaces Jim Loveless, Job Point’s President/CEO for more than four years.  Job Point Board Chair Matt Garrett said, “Job Point Board Chair Matt Garrett said, “Jim Loveless was an exceptional representative of Job Point.   His leadership allowed Job Point to help our job candidates develop into productive and capable employees for many businesses and organizations in our community.  As we wish Jim the best in his new career opportunity, we welcome Steve Smith.  Steve is well known in our community, with a strong background in business and non-profit organizations.  I’m pleased he is bringing his expertise to Job Point.”  Smith commented on his appointment, “I welcome this opportunity to serve and look forward to continuing the great mission of Job Point.”
