Donald “Donny” Fowler, Jr. was referred to Job Point in 2008 by DeeAnn Fuller of Vocational Rehabilitation for assistance in developing a career goal.  Donny had been out of the workforce for ten years, did not drive and was uncomfortable in social situations.  He participated in work tryouts at several businesses, attended job search classes and took part in intensive soft skills training.  He learned about personal presentation, how to complete job applications and honed his interviewing skills.  During this time, staff also assisted Donny in obtaining a driver’s license.  Donny’s perseverance resulted in a position at Jefferson City’s newest Wal-Mart in July 2009.  Staff helped him practice the route from home to the store and he quickly gained the confidence to drive himself independently.  An Employment Consultant helped Donny with time management, prioritizing tasks and working efficiently.  After a few months of on-site support, he mastered his responsibilities.  Donny is an integral team member and is ecstatic to have a job to call his own.  Cindy Quinn, Senior Advisor, nominated Donny for our 2010 Award of Excellence.  Job Point recognizes Donny for his exceptional personal and vocational accomplishments.

We welcome our newest Job Point employees: Kim Ashcraft, Cassandra Call and Crystal Cunningham, all Employment Consultants.
