9:00am to 3:30pm; first and third week every month

Training is designed to enhance job search, work habits/soft skills and job retention through the following topic areas:

  • self-esteem and motivation
  • barriers to employment and retention
  • job search methods
  • personal presentation
  • basic computer literacy
  • Internet job search
  • resumes
  • applications
  • interviews

A Career Lab is equipped with computer work stations to develop/tailor resumes and cover letters. Internet access is provided in order to apply for positions online, post resumes and search for job openings through jobs.mo.gov (statewide job database) or through other means. Participants may establish personal e-mail accounts, so they can send and receive information and messages with employers.  After successfully completing the class, staff will provide job leads, assist with securing employment and conduct follow up support.
