Carrie Brown, 2017 Employee of the Year

Carrie Brown, 2017 Employee of the Year

Meet our 2017 Employee of the Year

Our 2017 shining star is a woman who is steadfast in her belief that all people deserve a second chance. While ensuring the youth she serves obtain employment or enroll in post-secondary education, she works tirelessly in finding our homeless students a place to call home and our single moms and dads safe and reliable childcare. She holds the youth with whom she works accountable by standing tall alongside them as they learn tough life lessons, many of which she learned herself as a younger person. Last year amidst her grief over the passing of her dear friend and boss, Mr. Gary Taylor, she led the YouthBuild charge during a time of great uncertainty.  She navigated a number of staff vacancies through departures and illness. In large part and in thanks to Ms. Carrie Brown, the program is thriving today. She also serves as a great ambassador for the organization, with her extensive network, employer connections and active participation in community initiatives aimed at changing one’s legacy.

Carrie possesses many superstar qualities. She has a great sense of humor, is efficient with her assignments and demonstrates an ownership mentality regardless of the task.  She’s often the first person to volunteer when absences require covering the reception desk, preparing lunch for our students or serving as van driver.  Carrie, thank you for your numerous contributions to Job Point.
